From the producers of “Gilmore Girls” and “Golden Girls” comes the company’s newest hit, “Silver Foxes” that will follow gay senior men.

Longtime collaborators Stan Zimmerman and James Berg will write the upcoming series. The duo have written and produced “Roseanne” and “Gilmore Girls” before creating the series “Rita Rocks”.

According to Variety, George Takei, Leslie Jordan, Cheri Oteri and Bruce Vilanch have all read for the lead roles.

“Every one of us is getting older,” Zimmerman told the Huffington Post. “Especially with gays and lesbians and transgender [people], we create our own families – and that’s what ‘The Golden Girls’ did. Those women came together and supported each other.”

The comedy series is inspired by the documentary “Gen Silent”. The 2011 flick focused on the discrimination in the LGBTQ senior experience in nursing homes.

Super Deluxe will produce the series and is still shopping for a streaming or cable network to run the series.
