On Sunday morning, British TV viewers were introduced to a new TV series with a unique concept: a news show featuring stories of interest to animals, aimed at pets and featuring a dog as its host.

The new show — titled “Newshound” — was introduced on existing news show “Newsround”, airing on BBC children’s channel CBBC, with that show’s host, named Ricky, introducing the host of “Newshound”, a dog named Pebbles.

In the clip above, Ricky interviews Pebbles to get the dog’s take on this new program, nodding his head thoughtfully as if Pebbles is answering his questions.

After the prank was revealed, viewers took to Twitter to express how much they loved the fake show, hoping Pebbles will return and asking that “Newshound” become an actual show.
