Tom Hardy has been rumoured as the next James Bond for years, and on Sunday he decided to trick fans into thinking their wishes has come true.
The “Venom” star posted a screencap of an article on Instagram claiming that he was taking over the Bond role after Daniel Craig shockingly quit.
Fans quickly realized that Hardy was simply pulling an April Fool’s Day prank.
Speaking to The Daily Beast in 2017, the 40-year-old was asked about the possibility of playing Bond.
“You know, there’s a saying amongst us in the fraternity of acting, and in the fellowship of my peer group, that if you talk about it you’re automatically out of the race,” Hardy responded. “So I can’t possibly comment on that one! If I mention it, it’s gone.”
