With her debut album set to drop on Friday, Cardi B is releasing another taste of what’s to come with “Drip”, a groove-heavy new track featuring Atlanta-based hip-hop group Migos.
In “Drip”, the “Bodak Yellow” rapper trades verses with the Migos emcees as they boast about their bling, with lyrics such as “Diamonds on my wrist, they be drippin’.”
In one verse, Migos’ Offset (who also happens to be Cardi B’s fiance) name-checks an infamous horror-movie villain: “When I got a mil’, I got excited / For the cash I’m a turn to Michael Myers.”
“Drip is the third song to be released from Cardi B’s upcoming album, Invasion of Privacy, which will be unveiled on Friday, April 6, following the recently released track “Be Careful” and her new video for “Bartier Cardi”, a collaboration with 21 Savage.
We’ll be seeing a lot of Cardi B in the coming days; she’s set to co-host “The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon” on Monday (the first time Fallon has ever invited anyone to co-host), and will perform on “Saturday Night Live” when “Black Panther” star Chadwick Boseman hosts this weekend.
In the meantime, check out some of the Twitter reaction to her upcoming “Tonight Show” gig.
