Carrie Underwood Shares First Full Photo Of Her Face After Requiring 50 Stitches

Carrie Underwood is on the mend, sharing the first full image of her face since a nasty fall in November led to an injury that required nearly 50 stitches.

In the photo, which the “American Idol” winner shared with her Instagram followers on Friday, Underwood is wearing jeans and a t-shirt during a rehearsal with her band. “Missed these guys,” she wrote in the caption, adding the hashtag #bandrehearsals.

She followed that up with another photo, taken during rehearsals for her upcoming performance at Sunday’s ACM Awards.

“Getting ready for the weekend,” wrote Underwood in the caption.

The 35-year-old country star shared an earlier photo on April 4, with just the left side of her face visible as she sat in a recording studio.

Underwood has been maintaining a low profile following the injury, first revealing to her fans via Twitter that she broke her wrist in the fall.

In January, Underwood said that her face had been injured as well, writing in a blog post to fans about how “a freak random accident can change your life.”

She wrote: “In addition to breaking my wrist, I somehow managed to injure my face as well. I’ll spare you the gruesome details, but when I came out of surgery the night of my fall, the doctor told [husband] Mike [Fisher] that he had put between 40 and 50 stitches in.”

She concluded her message telling fans that “when I am ready to get in front of a camera, I want you all to understand why I might look a bit different.”

Only one other photo of Underwood has surfaced since she suffered the accident, taken with “Below Deck” star Adrienne Gang when she ran into Underwood at the gym.
