The man who allegedly attacked Jaime King’s car while her 4-year-old son, James, was inside has been charged with vandalism and cruelty to a child, ET has learned.
Paul Francis Floyd was charged on Friday with allegedly vandalizing two cars in Beverly Hills, one of them with a child inside, the Los Angeles County District Attorney’s Office announced. The 47-year-old man faces one felony count of vandalism and three misdemeanor counts: vandalism, cruelty to a child by endangering health and battery.
On Wednesday, Floyd allegedly jumped on top of the hood of King’s parked Mercedes Benz while her 4-year-old son and a friend, Judit Balogh, who was caring for the boy, were inside. The man allegedly also vandalized a second vehicle nearby.
Floyd allegedly broke the front and rear windows of the actress’ car and then threw a beer can at the woman caring for the child, prosecutors said. If convicted as charged, he faces a possible maximum sentence of five years in jail. The case remains under investigation by the Beverly Hills Police Department.
Following the incident, the “Hart of Dixie” star took to Instagram to share that she and her son were still shaken by the “brutal attack.”
“James Knight is very shaken up, as am I. The attack was incredibly violent, and my 4-year-old son was obviously the target of the individual’s brutal attack, which is terrifying,” she wrote on Thursday. King also thanked the police for their efforts and her friend who kept James safe during the incident.
