Timothee Chalamet really knows how to take a joke, especially when it’s coming from comedian John Mulaney.
The young “Call Me By Your Name” star was the subject of a bit in Mulaney’s standup performance at “Seth Rogen’s Hilarity for Charity” special on Netflix.
The comedian and “Big Mouth” co-creator joked about his wife’s love for the 22-year-old, which has made him feel particularly insecure — especially when she noted Chalamet might even be taller than him.
A fan on Twitter forwarded the clip to Chalamet, asking if he’d seen Mulaney’s bit, and it turned out he had.
Chalamet mentioning “the gas station” is actually a funny reference to the outfit he wore to Independent Spirit Awards — hosted by Mulaney and Nick Kroll — earlier this year.
Mulaney saw Chalamet’s tweet and decided to clear the air in the best way possible: with an invitation to compete together on “The Amazing Race”.
Fans of both stars on Twitter couldn’t get enough of the exchange and immediately started imagining what they would be like on the reality show competition.
