Mariah Carey is known for being a diva with a love of five-star living — until her assistant accidentally books her into a hostel instead of a hotel in an oddly hilarious new ad for Hostelworld.
In the ad (above), the impending arrival of the “elusive chanteuse” sends the hostel staff into a tailspin.

Carey is initially unimpressed with her new accommodations (especially when she finds herself sharing an elevator with a shirtless dude brushing his teeth). But she becomes perfectly at home when she finds out the hostel has a bar, and she takes over the DJ booth to play her tune “Fantasy”. She emerges from the booth in a glittering gold gown while her hair blows in the wind (courtesy of fans brought in by her minions). A white dove flutters around as she hosts an impromptu singalong of her 1997 hit.
Carey is the latest star to appear in wacky ads for the hostel-booking site after 50 Cent and Charlie Sheen, who appeared in a series of videos last year mocking his scandalous reputation. Watch:
