Nicki Minaj has been absent from social media as of late, but she came roaring back on Tuesday with her first tweets of 2018, revealing big news in the process.
In a pair of tweets, the “Anaconda” singer announced a pair of singles, both due to be released on Thursday: “Chun-Li” and “Barbie Tingz”.
And Minaj stuck true to her word. The rapper released a lyric video for “Barbie Tingz” on Thursday, and also teased the song’s official such video, seen below.
“Barbie Tingz” plays off Minaj’s longtime “Harajuku Barbie” alter-ego, the soft-spoken rap style most famously heard in Kanye West’s “Monster” and Young Money’s “Bed Rock”.
“Chun-Li”, which as of now does not seem to have an impending music video or lyric video, is inspired by a famous butt-kicking “Street Fighter” character.
