As “Black Panther” continues to break box-office records throughout the world, there’s been much discussion about how the Marvel movie’s massive success will bust open the door for more films from black filmmakers, telling stories from a black perspective.

It’s a reasonable expectation, given that “Black Panther” is currently the third-biggest domestic release in Hollywood history, the 10th-biggest internationally and North America’s highest-grossing superhero movie ever, boasting a worldwide gross of $1.3 billion and counting.

However, Samuel L. Jackson isn’t that confident we’ll see a wave of films featuring black actors, directors, and screenwriters.

“I’m not positive that ‘Black Panther’ is going to change the dynamic of black stories being told in Hollywood and being accepted all over the world,” the 69-year-old Oscar nominee explained in an interview with Vogue Arabia.
