Loyola’s 98-Year-Old Sister Jean Throws First Pitch At Chicago Cubs Home Opener

Chicago Cubs fans got a treat at Tuesday’s big home opener.

Sister Jean Dolores Schmidt, chaplain for the Loyola-Chicago men’s basketball team, who made it to the Final Four in last month’s NCAA tournament, appeared at the big MLB game to throw the opening pitch at Wrigley Field.

Members of the Cubs also excitedly met and took photos with Sister Jean before the game.

Sister Jean also received a special Cubs jersey with “Sister Jean” emblazoned on it.

Loyola guard Ben Richardson and coach Porter Moser also threw opening pitches before the game.
