Rebel Wilson is getting an even bigger payout from Bauer Media.
The “Pitch Perfect” actress was awarded the highest defamation payout in Australian history in a case against the European-based media company.
Wilson, 38, was awarded $4.5 million back in September. A new ruling from Victorian Supreme Court Justice John Dixon requires Bauer Media to also pay $1.123 million of Wilson’s $1.4 million of legal costs.
The actress’ attornies wanted $1.3 million repaid, but the Australian court decided on 80 per cent of the gross sum.
The majority of Wilson’s costs were due to her counsel, Dr. Matthew Collins, who was paid a rate of $9,000 a day and for a security guard.
Bauer Media plans to appeal against the $4.5M payout with a court date set for mid-April.
