John Krasinski joked about only marrying Emily Blunt because he couldn’t get her “Devil Wears Prada” co-star Anne Hathaway during a recent appearance on “The Graham Norton Show”; now, Hathaway has got in on the joke.
Krasinski, 38, who claims to have seen the movie over 70 times, said of meeting Blunt, 35: “I was like, ‘I just want to get it out of the way — I’m a huge fan of yours.’
“I was full stalker-status. I was like, ‘Hey, you want to go out on a date with me?’”
Blunt then explained, “There’s a sort of montage sequence where Anne Hathaway’s got numerous fabulous outfits that they go through. And John, one day I came home, and he was watching the montage bit. And he goes, ‘That’s my favourite outfit,’” to which her husband joked: “I couldn’t get Annie and so I was like, ‘Ohhhh…’”
Hathaway, who married producer Adam Shulman in 2012, found the whole thing hilarious and took to Instagram Wednesday to joke that she’d only wed her husband because she couldn’t get Blunt.
