Sandra Bullock Makes Donation In Honour Of Her Mother At New Orleans Public School

Sandra Bullock is giving back to her community.

The Oscar winner, 53, has made a large donation in honour of her late mother, Helga, to a New Orleans public school, according to People magazine.

Bullock has been supporting the school since 2005 after being devastated by Hurricane Katrina.

The “Ocean’s 8” star made a $5,000 donation Thursday, but also made an announcement on the school’s fundraising page.

“I will match the next $50,000!” The Commit Change page reads. “Let’s take care of our future!”

Since getting involved with Warren Easton — the oldest high school in Louisiana — the star has donated hundreds of thousands of dollars to help rebuild the historic campus.

According to the fundraising website, the goal has already tripled and currently sits at $161,547.
