Legendary Soul Group The Temptations Release Tasty Cover Of The Weeknd’s ‘Earned It’

Known for such classic hits as “Papa Was A Rolling Stone” and “My Girl”, legendary soul vocal group The Temptations have lent their unique vocal stylings to a cover of “Earned It” from Canada’s own The Weeknd.

The new track, which will appear on the group’s upcoming album All The Time, puts a funkified spin on the Canadian’s song , which originally appeared on the soundtrack for “Fifty Shades of Grey” in 2014.

The new album will also see The Temptations cover contemporary hits Sam Smith’s “Stay With Me”, Ed Sheeran’s “Thinking Out Loud”, Bruno Mars’ “When I Was Your Man” among others.

Discussing the upcoming album with Rolling Stone, The Temptations’ Otis Williams — the only surviving original member of the group — admitted that he’s not a huge fan of a lot of today’s pop music.

“I’m often asked, ‘Otis, what do you think about the music of today?’” Williams tells RS. “Understand, I’m from the school of Motown, where great songs were written, produced, performed, structured daily. I don’t want to rain on anyone’s parade, but I’m really not impressed with some of the stuff I hear on the radio.”
