Taylor Swift fans are in for a treat.
The 28-year-old singer-songwriter dropped a new, acoustic version of her latest single “Delicate”, as well as a cover of the Earth, Wind & Fire classic “September” on Friday.
Both of the new tracks were recorded in the Tracking Room in Nashville as part of the Spotify Singles series.
Swift’s take on the ’70s track differs substantially from the original, with her voice backed by banjos in a stripped-back, bluegrass version of the song.
Swift’s cover was praised by Earth, Wind & Fire co-writer Allee Willis. “‘September’ was my first hit and favourite song of mine I ever have had the joy of being a part of,” Willis told Billboard. “Taylor Swift is the absolute cherry on top of a very soulful and happy sundae.”
The new version of “Delicate” features the Grammy Award-winning artist’s voice over mellow, acoustic guitars, rather than synths.
The “Look What You Made Me Do” singer is the latest artist to be featured on the Spotify Singles series. Other musicians who have participated include Miley Cyrus, Demi Lovato, Harry Styles, Arcade Fire and Fifth Harmony.
