What a rollercoaster of a ride these past few years have been for Selena Gomez!
The “Good For You”; singer has been through some major ups and down, in both her personal and professional life, and now she’s resolved to rise above the criticism, revealing to Flare Magazine that she feels “in control.”
With a new label, new management, and a new relationship status, the singer is getting candid with the Canadian fashion monthly on her latest transition. “I’m young: I’ve lived my life in the public eye, and I’ve had to figure out how to do that,” she told the magazine. “Ultimately, I am 23 and figuring out my life. I feel confident, I feel empowered.”;
She added, “I’ve felt so much in the past two years, from being super in love and then dealing with things to getting older and all these beautiful experiences that were complicated and exciting.”
After breaking things off with Zedd earlier this year, Gomez is living the single life and making her own needs her top priority. “I go on dates. It’s not that difficult—I’m a nice young lady [laughs]—but that’s not my focus. I’m really stoked about being with myself right now.”;

And just as ex-boyfriend Justin Bieber revealed in the latest issue of Complex magazine, Gomez also talked about her own Christian faith. “It is beautiful to have a relationship, in my case with the Lord,” she revealed. “So I’ve always been open about that…I have compassion, I have forgiveness, I have understanding, and this is my life—this is how I choose to live it.”;
ET Canada went behind-the-scenes with Gomez where she gave us a sneak peek into her upcoming album, Revival. “The biggest challenge was figuring out how to tell the story,”; she told us. “It’s kind of all over the place. In a good way.”;
