With her birthday quickly coming up in February, Cindy Crawford is celebrating the big 5-0 by looking back at her illustrious career.
The supermodel is getting ready to release her first book, “Becoming,” and opened up to ET Canada about her career, kids and, of course, her killer “Bad Blood” video appearance.
“Recently being in Taylor Swift’s “Bad Blood’ video got me a lot of street cred,”; she said about the MTV award-winning video. “It was great to be a part of that whole thing. I did my shoot like a few days later on green screen, so I didn’t have the experience of being around all of them.”;
With her street cred status in check, Crawford — who shares two beautiful children, Kaia and Presley, with entrepreneur Rande Gerber — is gaining her kids approval in another way. “[Kaia is] starting to figure out it’s not such a terrible thing,” she explains of her daughter’s striking resemblance. “It’s not like, you know, people are trying to diss her by saying that she looks like me.”
Is an enduring career as a professional model in the works for Crawford’s 14-year-old daughter as well? With appearances in Vogue Italia and a recent walk in the Public School show at New York Fashion week she’s well on her way to following in her mother’s famous footsteps. But as Crawford explains, Kaia’s happiness is her top priority. “I just want her to, you know, be a kind person and have work that she loves,” she says. “I mean my husband and I have both been really fortunate that we love our jobs and we would want that for our kids too.”
She added, “in terms of modeling if she wants to do it, I wouldn’t dissuade her because it’s been great for me. I think that I could help guide her. And if she didn’t want to do that that would be fine too.”
Crawford’s new book takes a look back at the most memorable modelling moments of her career — a book concept which has been several years in the making. “I knew what I didn’t want to do. A couple of people have said over the years, “Oh, you should write a book.’ Some people thought, “Oh, do one on health and fitness and exercise.’ Other people thought just a coffee table book and I knew for sure I didn’t want to do like a tell-all autobiography.”;
