Stars like Hedley, Nina Dobrev, Carly Rae Jepsen, Nick Jonas, Kardinal Offishall, Kiesza, Demi Lovato & Shawn Mendes braved the chilly Canadian fall temperature to bring We Day Toronto to the Air Canada Centre.

“This is not cold,”; the boys from Hedley told us. “This is not arctic Russia!”; they added, before telling us about the palpable energy the event has.

And Carly Rae Jepsen caught us up on her next project while on the red carpet, explaining why she’s so excited to play Frenchy in “Grease Live!”; “That movie is iconic, and that character  is a little more saucy than anyting I’ve ever done before,”; she tells us. “I think it’s going to be a fun new world for me actually. I’ve obviously done a little bit of Broadway, a little bit of TV moments, but the combination has never been so close-knit and I’m really looking forward to that challenge.”;

Shawn Mendes’s career is so hot, the singer decided that he didn’t need a jacket to hit the red carpet — a decision, he told us, he might not have fully thought out.

“I had a jacket this morning, but then I didn’t really like it. It was just a weird jacket. So I decided to wear a t-shirt, but I’m kind of regretting that now,”; he told ET Canada.

Mendes wasn’t as forthcoming about his new music, keeping mum on the details, but teasing us nonetheless. Watch below.

Celebrating youth making a difference around the world and becoming the change they wish to see in the world, Roz Weston got the chance to sit down with We Day host Demi Lovato, who, although ready to release her new single “Confident”;, tells him she didn’t quite embody the feeling on stage.

“It was great. It was a lot of fun,”; Lovato says about her hosting duties. “I’m not the best at hosting, but it was fun.”;  When asked why she didn’t think she rocked it, Demi simply replied, “I had to start every line over.”;
