Most celebrities have sat through interviews that went off the rails, but you really have to hand it to Tom Holland for managing to keep a straight face when he found himself responding to some downright ridiculous questions, not realizing he was the victim of an elaborate practical joke.
That was precisely what happened when the “Spider-Man: Homecoming” star sat down for what he thought was an interview for his role in the upcoming “Avengers: Infinity War”, but was actually a prank perpetrated by YouTubers Caspar Lee and Conor Maynard.
What Holland doesn’t realize in the interview (which can be seen above) is that interviewer Josh Pieters is wearing an earpiece, with Lee and Maynard feeding him ridiculous lines meant to flummox Holland — made even more awkward by the fact that Holland knows Pieters, and isn’t quite sure how to react to the escalating weirdness.
The 21-year-old actor, to his credit, manages to maintain his composure throughout, no matter how bizarre things became — even when Pieters starts singing made-up lyrics to the “Spider-Man” theme such as, “Can he fly? He can swim. He’s got webs coming out of his chin.”
