Dwayne Johnson thrilled fans on Friday night as he performed his rap from the beloved movie “Moana” on “The Graham Norton Show”.
The 45-year-old was asked by the British talk show host whether or not children ask him to sing his character Maui’s track “You’re Welcome”, to which the actor replied: “All the time, it’s constant. They’re like, ‘Sing your songs! Sing your songs!'”
The star, who is expecting his third daughter at any moment, belted out the song, which, unsurprisingly, got a lot of cheers from the audience.
Friday’s appearance also saw Johnson reveal that his character in the hit Disney film was actually inspired by his late grandfather, the former WWE star High Chief Peter Maivia.
Johnson, who has been busy promoting his latest movie “Rampage”, explained, “A lot of the details of that character Maui was based off my grandfather, with the long hair and very big build and tattoos.
“In Polynesian culture, in Samoan culture, to become a high chief, you have tattoos 360 degrees from your knees all the way up to the bottom of your chest. It’s hardcore!”
