After TMZ caught Nick Jonas brunching with Kate Hudson in Miami following their date at Disney World – rumours started flying they were a hot new item. But ET Canada sat down with the singer before his Live in Concert stop in Toronto this past weekend and he told us he’s not tied down to anyone.
“I’m 23, single and loving life,”; Jonas tells us. “And in a moment, I’m just trying to have as much fun as possible… I do live a public life and for whatever reason people are interested in that.”; Adding jokingly, “I think my life is not that interesting.”
Jonas may have risen to fame with the Jonas Brothers – but it was his song “Jealous” that reignited his solo career. The hit became Nick’s highest charting single, landing five weeks on Billboard’s Mainstream Top 40 Chart and selling over 2 million copies in the U.S. alone.
“You can’t create in fear,”; he says. “And that song ‘Jealous’ and that whole record came out of me feeling the most free I’ve felt… without the concerns of if it would be successful or not. And then it was a song that really changed my life and career.”
Now Jonas is hoping to have similar success with his new music, telling us: “‘Levels’ is a pretty good indication of the direction for the record. You know there’s more of that soul and R&B influence… and I think as far as when you can expect it, the beginning of next year at some point.”
In the meantime, you can catch Jonas on the small screen playing gay characters in both “Kingdom” and “Scream Queens” – watch ET Canada tonight to find out how Jonas feels about taking on the roles.
