Chris Pratt has finally spoken out about his divorce after he and Anna Faris announced they were parting ways back in August 2017.
Pratt, 38, admitted “divorce sucks” as he spoke to Entertainment Weekly while promoting the eagerly-anticipated movie “Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom”.
The actor, who shares 5-year-old son Jack with Faris, 41, continued, “But at the end of the day, we’ve got a great kid who’s got two parents who love him very much. And we’re finding a way to navigate this while still remaining friends and still being kind to one another.”
“It’s not ideal, but yeah, I think both of us are actually probably doing better,” he added.
Pratt’s ex responded to his remark, saying that “completely” agreed while sharing that they remain friends.
“We have a great friendship. We really do. And we always have,” she divulged in an interview with SiriusXM’s Hits One. “And yeah, it’s always tough to envision your future as one thing, but I think there’s a lot of love. And in what we do, there’s so much [unpredictability]. I think that it’s a lesson learned a little bit in terms of keeping relationships a little more private potentially even though I don’t wanna. I pride myself on being a pretty open person but I don’t know. It’s tough when you’re under the scrutiny.”
Pratt is thought to currently be single, while Faris is now dating cinematographer Michael Barrett.
Faris told E! News of the former couple’s little boy back in January: “He’s surrounded by so much love. We constantly reinforce what a great kid he is.”
She continued, “The key is surrounding him with a lot of joy and happiness, which he has a ton of.”
Pratt previously took to social media to share the split announcement: “Anna and I are sad to announce we are legally separating. We tried hard for a long time, and we’re really disappointed.”
