Dakota Johnson speaks about filming the “Suspiria” remake and just how tough it was in a new interview with Elle magazine.
The 28-year-old plays Susie Bannion in the upcoming horror flick, which tells the tale of a young American ballerina who goes to train at a prestigious German dance academy before she uncovers the school’s dark secrets.
Johnson admits shooting the movie had quite the effect on her, telling the mag, “No lie, [it] f**ked me up so much that I had to go to therapy.”
She adds of the shoot’s location: “We were in an abandoned hotel on top of a mountain. It had 30 telephone poles on the roof, so there was electricity pulsating through the building, and everyone was shocking each other.
“It was cold as s**t, and so dry. The only thing that helped was dousing myself with [coconut] oil every night. Now I can’t get enough.”
Johnson, who starred in the “Fifty Shades” franchise alongside Jamie Dornan, says that now “Suspiria” filming is over, she can finally focus on developing her own production company.
“I’ve come to terms with the fact that the projects I want to work on don’t exist, so I’m going to have to create them for myself. I feel incredibly grateful that I’m in a position to do that.”
The actress’s interview also sees her gush about her career in general, with her admitting, “There are many more experiences to have.”
