Eminem is celebrating a big personal milestone.
The “Lose Yourself” rapper took to Instagram on Saturday to share a very important photo of his congratulatory medallion signifying a decade of sobriety.
The medallion featured a big roman numeral “X” in the centre, with the words “unity, service, recovery” written around the “X”.
Eminem’s history of drug use has been well documented in the media and in his music, leading to such album titles as Relapse and Recovery.
“I used to get pills wherever I could,” he told the New York Times in 2011. “I was just taking anything that anybody was giving to me.”
At the height of his drug use, Eminem was taking upwards of 20 pills a day and suffered a near-fatal accidental overdose in 2007.
Congratulations to Eminem, who also recently headlined Coachella Music Festival 2018.
