The tragedy of the Humboldt Broncos bus crash is not lost on Canada’s neighbours to the south.
Comedian and daytime talk show personality Ellen DeGeneres honoured the victims of the crash by carrying a hockey stick to a speaking event in Calgary on Saturday.
“My heart breaks for everyone, it hurt all of us,” she told the estimated 15,000 people at the Scotiabank Saddledome. “Let’s try to shine some light and love and dedicate this night to them.”
Her kind words were appreciated by the live crowd and the Twitterverse.
