UPDATE: John Stamos To Be Charged With Driving Under The Influence Of GHB

UPDATE (Thursday, October 8, 5:00 p.m.):“Grandfathered” star John Stamos will be charged with driving under the influence of GHB, the date rape drug, TMZ reports.

Sources close to the actor reveal to TMZ that the actor consumed the drug for fitness purposes. The actor was reportedly taking GHB as a fitness supplement to “lean out body mass” in preparation for a new role.

The 51-year-old actor was arrested June 12 in Beverly Hills after police received several calls about his erratic driving.

Stamos checked himself into rehab for a 30-day stay following his arrest.

UPDATE (Saturday, June 13, 2:21 p.m.): TMZ has released footage of John Stamos’ DUI arrest, a short clip showing the Full House star being handcuffed by officers:

Meanwhile, Stamos issued the following tweet, thanking everyone “for their love and support,”; as well as thanking the Beverly Hills PD and staff at Cedars Sinai hospital, noting that he is “home and well.”;

John Stamos was arrested in Beverly Hills last night and charged with DUI, and was reportedly so loaded that cops sent him directly to the hospital.

According to the police report, the Beverly Hills PD received “numerous calls about a possible DUI driver”; in the area, and at approximately 7:45 p.m. stopped a vehicle that wound up being driven by the 51-year-old star.

Stamos was then taken by officers to a nearby hospital “for a possible medical condition.”; While at the hospital, however, doctors determined he had been driving under the influence and he was placed under arrest.

Police issued Stamos a citation for DUI, and released him into the care of the hospital.

Stamos is due in court on Sept. 11 — right around the time his upcoming Fox sitcom Grandfathered is set to premiere.
