Kelly Clarkson got given her very own talk show when she appeared on Thursday’s “The Ellen DeGeneres Show”.
The tables turned and Clarkson, 36, who is set to host the Billboard Music Awards on May 20, interviewed DeGeneres, 60, for the “The Kelly Show”, with her asking an array of questions, as well as taking part in an epic karaoke session.
Clarkson kicked things off by questioning DeGeneres about the identity of her favourite guest: “There’s so many people, there’s Pink, there’s Alicia Keys, Scarlett Johansson, Chris Hemsworth… you,” she added eventually.
Talk then turned to when DeGeneres knew that she wanted to become a talk show host, to which the comedian joked: “When they offered it to me… growing up as a kid I loved talk shows. I always thought it’d be a fun job, but I never thought I would do it until I ran out of jobs.”
The pair then treated viewers to an incredible rendition of Clarkson’s smash hit “Since U Been Gone”.
Things eventually went back to normal with DeGeneres doing the interviewing. She asked Clarkson about her recent 36th birthday bash.
The musician explained, “I maybe had a little bit too much and I didn’t know there was a surprise coming, there was a ton of people waiting afterwards, nobody told me there was a dinner or an escape game planned. Nothing.
“I pre-gamed a lot, my pre-game was far above everyone else’s.”
Thursday’s appearance also saw Clarkson chat about being a judge on “The Voice”, as well as talking about her kids being old enough now to push each other around.
