Imagine Dragons frontman Dan Reynolds and singer Aja Volkman are heading for divorce. Reynolds took to Twitter on Thursday to announce the couple’s seven-year marriage “has come to an end.”
“Our children continue to be the most important thing in our lives,” adds Reynolds of the pair’s three daughters, including 1-year-old twins Coco Rae and Gia James and their older sister Arrow Eve.
Reynolds and Volkman — best known for fronting the indie rock band Nico Vega — were married in 2011. In a subsequent tweet, he asked for privacy “as we work through this as a family.”
Just 10 months ago, Imagine Dragons shared a sweet video that traced the “evolution of love” throughout the couple’s relationship, featuring footage from their wedding and home video capturing moments in their marriage.
In a 2012 interview with LA Weekly, Reynolds opened up about how music brought them together.

“It seemed that music was the only link we had,” Reynolds explained. “But as we got to know each other on a more personal level, we found that we had so many similarities in our hearts that it was scary. I never had met someone who I connected to so instantly. Everything about her captivated me. I needed to know her.”
