‘Our Cartoon President’ Brings Trump To White House Correspondents’ Dinner

While President Donald Trump was nowhere near Saturday’s annual White House Correspondents’ Dinner — or comedian Michelle Wolf’s scathing jokes — that’s not the case in the animated world of “Our Cartoon President”, with the Showtime comedy (produced by “The Late Show” host Stephen Colbert) presenting an animated alternate universe in which Trump showed up to joke around with the folks he’s affectionately nicknamed “the lying fake media.”

Not only did cartoon Trump attend, he also had some zingers of his own to share in this special video, above.

Not only does Trump throw out some jokes, he even pokes fun at himself, introducing himself as “Donald J. Trump, or as you all know me, ‘a source close to the president.'”

Later in his speech, he sings a musical tribute to New York Times reporter Maggie Haberman, while cable-news stalwarts Wolf Blitzer, Sean Hannity and Rachel Maddow also get spoofed along the way.

Following his song, the smiling president offers a sunny sign-off to the Washington press corps: “I look forward to locking you all up in the coming years!”

“My Cartoon President” will return with new episodes this summer; in the meantime, don’t miss “The Late Show with Stephen Colbert”, airing weeknights at 11:35 p.m. ET/PT on Global; you can also watch full episodes online.
