Jimmy Kimmel Goofs On Kanye West’s Unhinged TMZ Live Interview

Kanye West has just been full of surprises lately, returning to Twitter after a nearly year-long hiatus, professing his unabashed support for President Donald Trump and then popping into TMZ headquarters for an extended “TMZ Live” interview.

That interview, which took place on Tuesday, was beyond wild, with the 40-year-old rapper divulging he became addicted to opioids following liposuction surgery (“…because I didn’t want y’all to call me fat like you called Rob [Kardashian] fat”) and making some controversial remarks about slavery in America that seemingly blamed the slaves for their own enslavement (“For 400 years, that sounds like a choice… You was there for 400 years. And it’s all of y’all?”).

Jimmy Kimmel took notice of West’s bizarre TMZ interview, and joked about it during his monologue in Tuesday’s edition of “Jimmy Kimmel Live!” (above).

“For whatever reason, Kanye felt the need to spend a full hour on TMZ Live today to defend his love for Donald Trump and to go off on a tangent not seen since the glory days of Gary Busey on ‘Celebrity Rehab’,” quipped Kimmel.

Kimmel then played a clip of West discussing the opioid painkillers he was given after his surgery. “When I left the hospital, how many pills you think I was given? Seven!” he said. “I went from taking two pills to taking seven!”

Responded Kimmel: “Maybe you should be taking eight.”

Kimmel also goofed on West’s bizarre remark that “TMZ is the hospital to fix the world,” joking, “Wow, health care really is in bad shape if TMZ is a hospital. If TMZ is a hospital, it’s a mental hospital!”

As Kimmel admitted, keeping up with the daily nuttiness emanating from Donald Trump’s White House is a full-time job for late-night hosts, but Yeezy’s shenanigans are taking things to a whole other level.

“Here’s the thing: This job, doing this show every night, is hard enough,” said Kimmel. “Keeping up with the White House on a daily basis is exhausting. I can’t handle Donald Trump and Kanye West at the same time. It’s too much. It’s like being a single mother with twins. I can’t do it!” he said. “One of you is gonna have to stop — I’ll let you decide between yourselves which one it’s going to be.”
