It looks like Roseanne Barr wasn’t the only leading lady Tom Arnold had eyes for.

During an interview with “The Howard Stern Show”, the 59-year-old revealed he romanced co-star Laurie Metcalf while filming the “Roseanne” pilot.

“The night we shot the pilot, yes, Roseanne was in the front seat getting romantic with John Goodman. I was in the backseat. Roseanne looks back and I’m holding hands with Laurie Metcalf,” Tom admitted.

While this revelation is shocking – considering he and Roseanne would eventually wed in 1990 – Tom insists he didn’t pursue a relationship with Laurie. “We had a night… it’s like I’m sure we were out partying,” he clarified. “The next morning [Barr] calls me into her office and she goes, ‘Tom, I was a writer too. Writers cannot date the actors. That’s the rule of Hollywood’… And then I couldn’t date Laurie Metcalf.”

Roseanne and Tom got divorced in 1994, the same year he was fired from the popular sitcom.

So far, there are no plans for Tom to appear in the reboot.
