T.I. and Kanye West argued U.S. political ideology on “Ye. vs the People”, but the two had a very private conversation before the making of the song.
The rapper known as Tip reached out to West over his controversial string of tweets supporting U.S. President Donald Trump. Following a brief text exchange, West invited T.I. to his Los Angeles home to converse in person.
“‘I’m sure you have a very logical explanation to all this. Where’s it heading? What’s the punch line?'” T.I. recalled telling West, in a new conversation with “The Breakfast Club” on Power 105.1 FM. “And [West] said, ‘Man, I’m just being a free thinker.'”
“‘Have you thought about the people that supported you that you hurt when you put that hat on?’ And then he looked different. I could see an epiphany,” T.I. asked the “Famous” rapper.
“‘I hurt someone by having my own opinion?'” West responded, according to T.I.’s quote.
T.I.’s interview with the Breakfast Club follows a very recent interview with West conducted by Charlamagne tha God.
