WATCH: Kim Catrall’s New ‘Stand Up To Cancer Canada’ PSA

In 2015, one in nine Canadian women is expected to develop breast cancer at some point in her lifetime, and a new public service announcement starring former Sex and the City star Kim Catrall aims to increase awareness in hopes of preventing this heinous disease through early prevention.

Working with Stand Up to Cancer Canada and the Canadian Breast Cancer Foundation, the Canadian actress encourages people to visit standup2cancer.ca/breastcancer in the PSA, so viewers can learn more about advances in breast cancer research, clinical trials testing innovative treatments and more.

“I am proud and honoured to join Stand Up To Cancer Canada and the Canadian Breast Cancer Foundation in this critical initiative,” said Catrall in a statement.

In the PSA, Cattrall shares the true story of a Canadian woman named Katherine, who completed treatment for cancer four years ago and is now completely healthy and 100-per-cent cancer-free. “Breast cancer flipped Katherine’s world upside down,”; says Catrall in the PSA. “But in the five years since she underwent treatment, Katherine’s doing some flips of her own,”; with Katherine seen doing backflips on a trampoline.
