Nominations for the 2018 MTV Movie & TV Awards were announced Thursday with “Black Panther” and “Stranger Things” coming out ahead of the pack.
Already one of the top-grossing movies of all time, “Black Panther” came away with a total of seven nominations in the film categories, including Best Movie, Best Performance and Best Hero for Chadwick Boseman, and more.

Other big contenders in the movie categories include “Wonder Woman”, “Girls Trip”, “Star Wars: The Last Jedi” and “It”.
On the TV side, “Stranger Things” earned six nominations for Best Show, Best On-Screen Team, and Best Performance for Millie Bobby Brown.
“Game of Thrones”, “13 Reasons Why” and “Riverdale were also among the big TV nominees.
This year’s MTV Movie & TV Awards will be broadcast June 18 at 9 p.m. ET/PT, with Tiffany Haddish hosting. Notably, the award show once again features non-gendered acting categories, a move started at last year’s show.
