Scarlett Johansson refuses to follow trends.
The “Avengers: Infinity War” star dazzled on the 2018 Met Gala red carpet in a red ombre gown from Marchesa. Marchesa is, of course, the fashion house led by Harvey Weinstein’s ex-wife Georgina Chapman and design partner Keren Craig.
Marchesa has long been a red carpet staple, with stars like Jennifer Lopez, Blake Lively, Sandra Bullock, and Kate Hudson wearing the brand’s outfits in the past.
However, the fashion house has seen much less mainstream activity since dozens of sexual misconduct allegations came out against Weinstein.
“We are truly honoured that Scarlett chose to wear Marchesa for the Met Gala,” the fashion company told ET on Monday.
Johansson, 33, did not let social politics play a role in her wardrobe choice as she walked the red carpet with her boyfriend Colin Jost.
“I wore Marchesa because their clothes make women feel confident and beautiful, and it is my pleasure to support a brand created by two incredibly talented and important female designers,” Johansson said in a statement to ET.
