Gayle King Welcomes Ellen to Oprah Winfrey’s Inner Circle With Special Gift

“CBS This Morning” co-host Gayle King makes her first appearance on “The Ellen DeGeneres Show” on Tuesday and she comes bearing gifts.

King talks to Ellen DeGeneres about their mutual friendship with Oprah Winfrey and then surprises the host with an extraordinary present – a brightly coloured caftan with the face of Oprah and her dogs on it.

The morning show co-host also reveals that she’s never smoked marijuana before and how Amy Schumer offered to get high with her during DeGeneres’ 60th birthday bash. King says she is open to the offer, while also confessing that Oprah has smoked pot, though she declines to answer whether or not the media mogul enjoys it.

King went on to discuss her new book, “Note to Self,” which is based on the popular “CBS This Morning” segment where famous people write advice and encouragement to their younger selves.

Later in the interview, King chats about her six-hour-long coverage of the upcoming royal wedding, and returning the favour, DeGeneres surprises King with a gift to wear to the monumental event – a fascinator featuring the faces of Prince Harry, Meghan Markle, and of course, DeGeneres herself.

“I want you to wear your caftan and that hat and smoke some pot,” DeGeneres jokes.
