George Clooney Pranked Tina Fey After Golden Globes Jab: ‘We Lived In Fear’

Don’t mess with George Clooney.

Tina Fey learned this lesson first-hand after she and 2014 Golden Globes co-host Amy Poehler roasted Clooney.

“‘Gravity’ is nominated for Best Film,” Fey said at the awards show. “It’s the story of how George Clooney would rather float away into space and die than spend one more minute with a woman his own age.”

Reflecting on the joke, Fey told SiriusXM how Clooney plotted his revenge soon after. The actor forged an angry letter, pretending to be Matt Damon, and had it delivered to Fey and Poehler.

“We lived in fear of it,” said Fey. “I sent two giant fruit baskets to Matt Damon being like, ‘Here is one in case this is real, I’m super sorry. And here is one in case this is a prank.” According to Fey, Damon supposedly responded, “My wife is mad, there is so much fruit!”

But the “SNL” star seems to have had the last laugh, as she and Poehler poked more fun at Clooney at the 2015 Golden Globes.
