Emily Ratajkowski is tired of trying to prove herself in Hollywood.
In a stunning cover shoot with Marie Claire magazine, the “I Feel Pretty” actress, 26, opened up about her time in the entertainment industry.
“I care a lot,” she told the mag. “I think I freak people out sometimes going in to meeting with Hollywood producers… with f**king guns blazing. I had something to prove, and it had very little to do with my acting ability or the way I looked.”
She added, “It was about the ‘take me seriously’… look me in the eye.”
And Ratajkowski is embracing her body confidence, “Boobs are funny. They hurt sometimes, and sometimes they’re the thing that makes me feel most powerful. They’re a key to my sexuality. They’re all those things.”
But she has a message to female fans, to do what makes them happy, “We grow up in this patriarchal, misogynistic culture, and women fantasize about watching themselves through a male gaze.”
She continued, “Do what you feel like!”
“I Feel Pretty” is in theatres now.
