Murray Fraser and Parisa Fitz-Henley have some big shoes to fill in Lifetime’s “Harry & Meghan: A Royal Romance”. The actors are stepping into the shoes of Prince Harry and Meghan Markle as the made-for-TV movie charts the couple’s relationship ahead of the royal wedding.
“Doing the accent was a good challenge! I don’t want to look at what the auditions were like to be honest!,” Fraser jokes with ET Canada. “There was only a week and a bit before we started shooting so I knew there wasn’t time to do a huge amount of prep on it.”
In the movie, which airs on W Network hours after the real-life couple ties the knot on May 19, Fitz-Henley plays Meghan, someone the actress realized she had a fair bit in common with.
“I think we must have auditioned for the same projects,” she says. “I did find out that we have a couple friends at least in common.”
While Prince Harry and Meghan Markle will be dancing and celebrating at their wedding when “Harry & Meghan: A Royal Romance” airs, the actors hope the soon-to-be newlyweds will approve of their performances.
“I would like them to feel like we meant them well!” Fitz-Henley exclaims, with Murray adding the actors and crew only ever had the “best intentions.”
“I would hope that when the real Harry and Meghan watch this they enjoy what we tried to do,” Fitz-Henley says. “I hope that they at least don’t hate it!”
