Backstreet’s back, alright! The hit boy band thrilled fans Thursday as they dropped their brand new single “Don’t Go Breaking My Heart”.
The five piece also unveiled a music video to accompany their eagerly anticipated comeback single, showing them singing and dancing along to the track BSB-style.
“The minute we heard this song we knew it was special,” band member Kevin Richardson said in a statement. “I geeked out over the piano and synths. When that groove drops on the second verse, COME ON. Great verse, hook and melodies. Just makes you wanna listen over and over again.”
The single comes after the band started a countdown on social media ahead of their latest song’s release.
From May 11 to the 13, the group, consisting of Nick Carter, Kevin Richardson, Brian Littrell, Howie Dorough and AJ McLean, took to Twitter to post photos and behind-the-scenes videos accompanied by short and snappy captions reading “Ready…”, “Set…” and “Don’t Go…”.
Finally, on Monday, May 14, the iconic boyband revealed the single and its cover art to their fans, who could barely contain their excitement.
The song is set to debut worldwide on Thursday, May 17, almost five years after the release of their last album “In a World Like This”.
Shortly after the single release, the Backstreet Boys will be returning to Las Vegas to continue their residency at the Zappos Theater this summer.
