Yara Shahidi and her mom are definitely on the same page, and proved it by participating in the “Mother Daughter Challenge” on Monday’s edition of “The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon”.
The “grown-ish” star was joined by her mother, Keri Shahidi, to answer a series of questions to see how well they really know each other, and completely aced it.
Right from the get-go, the 18-year-old actress, who plays eldest Johnson child Zoey on ABC sitcom “black-ish” and its college-set spinoff, demonstrated she and her mom are totally simpatico.
“Yara, what’s the one thing your mom says more than anything else?” quizzed Fallon.
“No profanity!” warned her mother jokingly.
Shahidi’s answer: “homegirl” — and she was correct. “I never remember people’s names,” explained her mom, “so I’m like, ‘Yo! You know homegirl that you saw…'”
