For the first time in seven years, Criss Angel is canceling some of his Las Vegas shows.
The magician — who normally performs his CRISS ANGEL BeLIEve shows at the Luxor Hotel and Casino — is heading to Australia to spend time with his son, Johnny Crisstopher Sarantakos. The little boy, who is almost two years old, was diagnosed with acute lymphoblastic leukemia earlier this week, according to a statement given to Page Six.

According to hotel staff, Angel held a news conference in Vegas last night. All of Angel’s currently scheduled shows through Nov. 1 have been canceled, ET has confirmed. Angel has performed over 3,000 scheduled shows in Vegas over his tenure that began in September 2008.
“In light of a family emergency, the news I was going to announce this weekend will be postponed,”; Angel, 47, posted to Facebook on Friday.
Angel isn’t the only Vegas-based performer who’s had to help care for a sick relative recently. Celine Dion returned to the stage after a year-long hiatus to help care for her 73-year-old husband, Rene Angelil, as he battled throat cancer. Watch the singer’s triumphant return in the video below.
