Andy Cohen finally spilled his 2018 Met Gala tea.
After teasing that a late-night talk show host was the drunkest person at the annual event, the “Watch What Happens Live” host, 49, has finally revealed the identity of the mystery imbiber.
“It was James Corden,” Cohen confessed to Howard Stern on his SiriusXM talk show. “But by the way, he wasn’t like blotto blotto….He was having a good time. He’s great.”
Corden was one of three guesses for fans after a “WWHL” viewer called into the show and wondered who caused the most commotion.”Oh! He’s another talk show host—and it’s not Jimmy Fallon,” Cohen said at the time, leaving the Brit, Stephen Colbert and Trevor Noah the only late-night hosts at the event.
But Corden told Stern on Tuesday he was definitely not drunk. “That was just my natural exuberance of life,” Corden insisted, revealing he does not typically drink much because of his travel-heavy schedule. “I think people often think I’m drunk just because I’m just having such a nice time.
“The reason I was having such a nice time is that my wife and I were away together for the first time in like a year and a half,” he explained. “We had a baby six months ago. We have three kids now and we had never left them before.”
Cohen, who also attended the gala with his usual date, Sarah Jessica Parker, even admitted to being a little under the influence throughout the night.
“I did have an edible,” he revealed, although Parker did not participate — and neither did his table mates, “Game of Thrones” star Emilia Clarke and singer Nick Jonas.
