“Catfish: The TV Show” host Nev Schulman is facing allegations of sexual misconduct and that has forced MTV to halt production on the reality-based documentary series.
The show investigates the truths and lies of online dating. MTV has brought it to a screeching halt due to the accusations against the “Catfish” host, 33, who also acts as the program’s executive producer.
“We take these allegations very seriously,” an MTV spokesperson said in a statement published by The Daily Beast. “We’re working with Critical Content, our third-party production company, to conduct a thorough investigation.”
“Catfish” premiered in 2012 and was renewed for a seventh season, which premiered this past January.
