Prince Charles will walk Meghan Markle down the aisle at Saturday’s royal wedding, it’s been confirmed.
Kensington Palace made the announcement Friday, just one day before Meghan, 36, is set to tie the knot with Prince Harry, 33, at Windsor Castle.
A statement read: “Ms. Meghan Markle has asked His Royal Highness The Prince of Wales to accompany her down the aisle of the Quire of St George’s Chapel on her Wedding Day. The Prince of Wales is pleased to be able to welcome Ms. Markle to The Royal Family in this way.”
Meghan’s mom, Doria Ragland, could still walk part of the way with her daughter though, with Hello!‘s royal expert Emily Nash pointing out:
Less than 24 hours before their royal wedding, Harry and Meghan were spotted smiling and waving at onlookers as they left Kensington Palace heading to Windsor on Friday.
The latest royal wedding news comes after Meghan announced Thursday that her father, Thomas, would no longer be attending her wedding.
The former “Suits” star shared: “Sadly, my father will not be attending our wedding. I have always cared for my father and hope he can be given the space he needs to focus on his health.
“I would like to thank everyone who has offered generous messages of support. Please know how much Harry and I look forward to sharing our special day with you on Saturday.”
It was claimed Wednesday that Thomas was on the mend following a successful heart operation conducted that morning.
He was said to have suffered a heart attack last week.
