While Americans are still waiting to see a woman president in the real-life Oval Office, television has brought us plenty over the years, ranging from Geena Davis in “Commander in Chief” to Robin Wright in “House of Cards” and even Julia Louis-Dreyfus’ short-lived stint as POTUS in “Veep”.

The next actress to play a female president will be Jennifer Aniston, who has signed on to star in a high-concept comedy movie for Netflix that adds a new twist into the mix.

Titled “First Ladies”, the upcoming comedy boasts a unique premise, with Aniston playing America’s first female president — with comedian Tig Notaro (“One Mississippi”) co-starring as her wife.

“‘First Ladies’ is a political comedy about America’s first female president and her wife, the first lady,” reads the Netflix synopsis of the series. “When Beverly and Kasey Nicholson move into the White House, they’ll prove that behind every great woman… is another great woman.”

Written by Notaro and her wife, Stephanie Allynne, the series will feature Chris Henchy (co-creator of the Funny or Die website) as executive producer, while Aniston, Notaro, Allynne, Adam McKay, Will Ferrell, Jessica Elbaum, and Betsy Koch will be producers.

No word yet on when “First Ladies” will make its debut.
