Prince Harry and Prince William arrived at St George’s Chapel at Windsor Castle in the frockcoat uniform of the Blues and Royals, tailored by Dege & Skinner of Savile Row.

Queen Elizabeth II gave Prince Harry permission to wear his uniform for his wedding ceremony.

According to a release from Kensington Palace, the groom’s frockcoat is made of “blue doeskin” and is  “single-breasted in style with a stand-up collar, complete with figured braiding of Regimental pattern” but his traditional slings do not have a sword. The frockcoat is ranked Major with large gold embroidered crowns.

Harry’s military experience is represtended on his uniform.

The badge on the left chest is Pilots’ Wings attained whilst serving with the Army Air Corps for flying Apache helicopters. The four medal ribbons below the Wings are, from left to right: K.C.V.O., Afghanistan with rosette, The Queen’s Golden Jubilee and The Queen’s Diamond Jubilee, according to a press release.

The handmade uniform took one person a week to complete.

Best man Prince William is also wearing his uniform with the rank of Major and with his military service represented: The Wings are those attained flying helicopters whilst serving with the RAF, the two medals below from left to right are the Queen’s Golden Jubilee and Queen’s Diamond Jubilee. The Duke of Cambridge is also wearing the Garter Star.

As an Aide-de-Camp to Her Majesty The Queen, The Duke is wearing the EIIR cyphers on his shoulder straps along with a gold Aiguillette on his right shoulder.

Wearing primrose yellow wool silk Alexander McQueen, Duchess Kate Middleton arrived along with the young members of the bridal party. The young page boys, including Prince George, wore miniature versions of the Blues and Royal frockcoat with their initials embroidered in gold on their shoulder straps. The ivory silk bridesmaids dresses are designed by Givenchy, as is the bride’s wedding gown.

Queen Elizabeth II wore a lime, lemon, purple and grey printed silk flared dress and lime silk tweed coat by Stuart Parvin while Prince Philip and Prince Charles wore morning suits. Camilla, Duchess of Cornwall wore an ice pink silk marocain asymmetrical coat dress from designer Anna Valentine and a pink feathered Philip Treacy hat.

The mother of the bride, Doria Markle wore a mint custom dress and day coat with floral embroidery designed by creative directors of Oscar de la Renta, Fernando Garcia and Laura Kim.
