Phil Collins is ready to step back into the spotlight.

A new interview with Rolling Stone features the revelation that Phil Collins has put an end to his retirement and will record new music and tour in the near future.

“I’m no longer officially retired,”; shared Collins who is fresh off back surgery. “The horse is out of the stable and I’m raring to go.”;

The “Sussudio”; hitmaker will begin recording new material next month in a studio installed in his Miami home. Collins hasn’t released an all-new album since since 2002’s Testify, although he did put out a Motown influenced covers LP called Going Back in 2010.

“My kids are now 10 and 14 and they want to see what their dad does,”; shared the artist. “They were in nappies when I was last on the road. They love my music and I’d like to take them out so they can enjoy it.”;

A solo tour is in the works, but a Genesis reunion jaunt isn’t a lock just yet.

“I love the guys. I would just prefer to do this first,”; Collins said. “For now, let’s just see how this goes.”;
