Ryan Reynolds will not shy away from his work on the critically-panned feature film “Green Lantern”.
In fact, the actor literally takes a shot at the movie in his well-received new action comedy “Deadpool 2”.
Whoever manages Warner Bros. Home Entertainment Twitter tried to return fire at Reynolds, 41, but got hit back harder for it.
“We tried to put a ring on it!” WB tweeted the same day as the North American theatrical release of “Deadpool 2”. In a subsequent tweet, they told the Vancouver-born actor, “We’re going to need that ring back.”
But they clearly did not know who they were messing with. The charming, witty, and viciously sarcastic actor clapped back, “Well, if we’d used a NuvaRing™️ in the first place, we wouldn’t be in this mess.” NuvaRing is a popular brand of a vaginal contraceptive ring.
“Green Lantern” was a critical and commercial dud, generating an average Rotten Tomatoes score of 26 per cent and profiting less than $20 million.
“Deadpool 2” by contrast is currently sitting with an 83 per cent rating and has already cleared over $190 million in profit.
